What inspired you to become a physical therapist, and what motivates you to continue in the field?

I was inspired to become a physical therapist because I wanted to help people move better and stay moving throughout their lives. Physical therapy empowers patients to understand their own bodies and use movement as a tool to reduce pain and overcome dysfunction. What keeps me motivated are the relationships I build with my patients and the variety of challenges that walk through the door each day—I love that no two days are the same.

What sets you apart from other physical therapists? What is your unique approach or philosophy?

I believe in treating the whole person, not just the injury or diagnosis. The environment I create in the clinic is supportive and holistic, recognizing that life’s ups and downs affect both body and mind. My goal is for each patient to feel truly seen and cared for as an individual. And because I believe healing doesn’t have to be serious all the time, I bring humor and positivity into my sessions—I always say giggles are the best medicine!

How do you stay current with the latest advancements and techniques in physical therapy? Are you learning anything new right now?

I recently completed my Orthopedic Clinical Residency, which gave me a strong foundation in evidence-based treatment and equipped me with tools to stay current as new research emerges. I’m continuing to build on that by preparing for my Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) Exam in March 2026, which is keeping me sharp and excited to keep learning.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of helping a patient?

One patient stands out who was non-weight-bearing after surgical complications. Watching his journey from crutches to walking independently without limitations was incredibly rewarding. Every patient victory, big or small, makes me proud to do what I do—moments like that are exactly why I love being a physical therapist.

What are your goals for the future, both professionally and personally, in the field of physical therapy?

My goal is to continue making a positive impact in the DC community through my work at Release, while also growing alongside an incredible team. Professionally, I’m looking forward to earning my OCS and continuing to expand my expertise. Personally, I hope to keep finding fulfillment in both my career and my own health and fitness journey.

How do you maintain work life balance and what do you do for fun?

I’m fortunate that my passions and my work go hand in hand. Outside the clinic, I compete in powerlifting and strongman competitions, so the gym is where I spend a lot of my time. I also love staying active outdoors with friends and family, and at the end of the day, there’s nothing better than relaxing with my partner and our two cats.
